Five Star Review from JERR

I am so thrilled to announce that Patrice Storie of Just Erotic Romance Reviews gave "The Collector 5: The Crystal Flacon" five stars and had this to say:
The Collector 5: The Crystal Flacon is an amazing adventure with an even more amazing love story woven through it. Abby Foster is a likable, enterprising heroine who can’t help falling for the handsome Antonio d’Este. Antonio has a lot going for him. He’s sexy, honorable to friends and employees and wonderful with his daughter. Lucy is a delightful child who adds depth to the story. Several suspenseful twists keep you involved and make the pace fly. The love scenes between Abby and Antonio are varied and steamy. They may have fallen for each other rather quickly but there are several plausible explanations, whether it’s magic or destiny at work. The historical references to Lucrezia Borgia and her husband really make this story unique and are so well done I felt there were two sets of heroes! If you enjoy a wildly romantic adventure with a supernatural twist, The Crystal Flacon is an excellent, highly entertaining choice.
Thanks, Patrice!

The Collector 5: The Crystal Flacon

I am so thrilled to announce that "The Collector 5: The Crystal Flacon" is available now from Loose Id publishers at

Here's the blurb:

Abby Foster, owner of Nannies, International, has been commissioned by the secretive Collector to obtain the Crystal Flacon, believed to have been in the possession of the infamous Lucrezia Borgia and to contain a magical aphrodisiac. But why should a nanny be set such a task? Seems Abby has secrets of her own. She also runs Finding Justice, an organization dedicated to returning art and other treasures lost during WWII to their rightful owners. With the specialized skills she's gained, getting the Flacon should be easy. She isn't counting on channeling Lucrezia through visions and dreams or falling for Antonio, duke d'Este, the present day owner of the Flacon.Antonio d'Este, the direct descendent of Lucrezia Borgia, is a modern man with modern problems. A recent widower, he needs a nanny to take care of his five year old daughter while he prepares for the launching of "Lucrezia", the new scent for Borgia, the family-owned perfumery. Inspired by the stunning Crystal Flacon, Antonio focuses everything on making "Lucrezia" a success. He has no time for the distraction posed by the beautiful nanny or the strange effect making love with her has on him. When someone attacks the perfumery, destroying property, disrupting projects in an attempt to ruin the company and killing innocent people, they both need a change of plans. Together, using Abby's skills honed while working for Finding Justice, they must find the saboteur, before everything they love is lost.

It's A New Year!

A lot has happened in my life, both professional and personal this past year. Since this is a new year, I'd rather concentrate on the good stuff.

First, "A Song of the Sidhe" was nominated for the Romance Studio's CAPA award for the best Erotic Fantasy romance! I am so thrilled about this! The category is small and I am the only nominee in it from Loose Id. I'm up against some big guns, too. Whatever the outcome, it was an honor to be nominated.
This month my sixth novel from Loose Id comes out.
"The Collector 5: The Crystal Flacon" is part of a multi-author series about the mysterious Collector and his quest to claim all the pieces of a love totem. My story was inspired by the much-maligned Lucrezia Borgia. In real life, she was beloved of her husband, Alfonso, Duke d'Este and the people of Ferrara, Italy where she spent the happiest years of her life.
I'm looking forward to this year -- who know what surprises await me!

First Review for "No One Else on Earth"

FOUR STARS form JERR! Here's a snippet of the review:
Reviewer: Suni Farrar
Rating: 4 Stars
Heat level: O
"...No One Else on Earth was one heck of an erotic roller coaster ride. It was like reading four books in one. Julie’s friends were not just figureheads that I got quick glances of every now and then. They each had a story and they were all dramatic. One of the most entertaining characters was Tzahyad...I liked him and found him not only interesting, but attractive as well, although, as the novel continued he morphed into the villain from the ninth circle of hell. Which, I must say, I found exciting as well...I could not help turning the page to see what or whom he was going to take advantage of next. I did not feel any guilt over reading the many scenes showing Mike and Julie together. They were hot and I appreciated each moment. Jeanne Barrack and No One Else on Earth are keepers."

And the Reviews keep rolling in

Got another review for A Song of the Sidhe from Erotic Escapades - Four Tattoos! Here's what Megan had to say about it: I was absolutely enthralled from the beginning to the end of A Song of the Sidhe. Magic, love and adventure wound together in a beautiful fantasy world which held me so fascinated that there was no putting this book down for me. If you like a book full of hot sex, and lots of it, the soft-core bondage combined with a silky seduction of your senses is guaranteed to keep your breath short and your panties wet. I loved watching Ceoleen and Donal go from vain arrogant people, with little care for others feelings, to kind considerate people who only wanted to make each other happy. The journey was not easy for either of them as they had reasonable fears concerning trust to work through and a lesson to teach each other about judging people with your heart and not your eyes or ears. With a bad guy you love to loathe and a couple so sympathetic your heart will hurt for them A Song of the Sidhe is a real winner to me and I will watch for more of Ms. Barrack's books in the future.

Latest News - Kudos and Contests!

My birthday was on May 25th and it seems the party's still going on!
A new review for A Song of the Sidhe from FAR - FIVE Angels! Here's a snippet of the review from Michelle: [The] Song of the Sidhe by Jeanne Barrack is an amazing and richly-woven tale of pride, passion, and the pettiness of the gods. This is a story of the power of love and of seeing with the eyes of the heart. Ms. Barrack expertly brings readers to a fever pitch with this passionate chronicle of two lovers learning themselves and overcoming their faults. The characters are lively and struck a chord with this reader, while the settings, from green forest glade to the shining courts of the fey, are lush and breathtaking. There are dominance games here and some voyeurism that add a sensual layer to this tale’s telling, and the sex here is served up smoking hot! [The] Song of the Sidhe is an emotional, heartfelt and terrific story that you’ll not want to miss! Five Angels!

Then, my upcoming release, No One Else on Earth, was chosen as one of the featured erotic romance books by The Road to Romance: The books are chosen based on hype, previous interest in releases by the author, originality of topic and general interest.

And we have a winner for my Night Whispers Authors May Contest for the $5 Loose Id Gift Certificate - Michael H.
Congratulations!

Cover for NO ONE ELSE ON EARTH

It's here! The cover for my contemporary paranormal just went up on Loose Id's Coming Soon page! This time the talented artist Christine Griffin did her magic! I like the very modern look of this cover; one of the things I like is the diversity of the artwork for my stories. The Hearthome trilogy has an almost fairytale quality to the covers, the cover for "A Song of the Sidhe" has a lovely Irish aura and my latest is totally different!
Here's the blurb: When Julie opens a strip club, she's not expecting to find a man for herself. Her Rubenesque figure isn't what men usually go for. Now she has two gorgeous aliens to choose from, and if she chooses wrong, it may cost her her life.

First review from RomanticTimesBookreviews

My first review ever from Romantic Times Book reviews was FOUR STARS for AMBER INFERNO to say I was thrilled is an understatement. Here's the review, short and sweet:
In the second book of the Hearthome trilogy, Princess Rayne has to save her kingdom. Prince Pentar reluctantly volunteers to help her. The two harbor a desire for one another, though they each think it's a one-sided feeling. When they realize it's mutual, there's an explosion of sensuality.
Barrack creates a wonderful world full of magic and sensuality. Pentar is an ideal mate for any woman -- he's sensitive to female needs, yet strong and masculine. And Rayne represents the two faces of many women -- the one that tries to be self-sufficient and handle anything, and the one that craves a mate and closeness and intimacy. The journey of these two hearts should not be missed!

4 Cups from Coffee Time Romance for "A Song of the Sidhe"

Doing the happy jig! Four Cups from Wateena at Coffee Time Romance for A SONG OF THE SIDHE
available now from Loose Id at
http://www.loose-id.net/detail.aspx?ID=228
Here's a bit of the review:
"Ms. Barrack has spun a wonderful tale with fairies, goddesses, and spells. Taking bits of lore and weaving them with beautiful characters and a twisted plot, it starts taking shape. Then add the spells, betrayals, and erotic romance and the tapestry comes together as a fantastic piece of work. I love these fantasy romances and this one is going on my keeper shelf."

First Review for A SONG OF THE SIDHE

Four and a half stars from Ecataromance!
I am so thrilled with this review from Ecataromance of "Song". This book sprang from my love of all things Irish and Irish music in particular, so I am so pleased with it.
Here's a snippet from the review.

"In many ways, A Song of the Sidhe is a story not only of love but also a story of looking beyond physical appearances to see the person underneath. Donal was afraid of what Ceoleen would think if she truly saw him while Ceoleen still craved acceptance and could not trust as yet. Another beautiful, emotional story, A Song of the Sidhe, proves once again that Jeanne Barrack is a master story teller." Reviewed by Elise

Cover for "A Song of the Sidhe"

It's finally here and I love it! The cover art is by Scott Carpenter, one of my favorite cover artists. I especially like the lettering style which hints of the Gaelic fonts.

Blurb for A Song of the Sidhe coming very soon!

The place: Ireland, a long, long time ago when the Sidhe walked among mortals.
Donal Bawn was the most handsome man in all of Tipparary with a voice that could lure the birds from the trees. But that all changed when he angered Ogma, High King of the Tipperary Sidhe. Doomed to wander as a hunchback with a voice as thin as a reed, Donal keeps to the forests away from human companionship until one day he hears a melodious female voice singing a fragmented tune over and over.
Ceoleen, a beautiful female of the Galway Sidhe has also been cursed for her vanity and foolhardiness. Blinded and exiled to a fairy ring deep in the woods, she can only repeat a broken phrase of music until that fated day when Donal finishes the song for her.
But their curses are only partially broken. It will take a great deal more than music to decide their fate. Will their love be strong enough to finally free them?
